A New Miss K in Town

Image
 ~~~ Can we talk about "baby yawns" for a moment?  Is there anything sweeter?  Well... maybe some baby toes!   ~~~ I have been photographing this beautiful family for almost two years now and am beyond blessed to have this small role in their lives.  I know I say this every time.... but I really do love them!  Birthdays, half-birthdays, a pregnancy, and now... a beautiful newborn! ~~~ Now.... I just need to figure out new nicknames for my clients' children since they all have names starting with "K". 😉 ~~~ Mama Bear made matching bracelets for the girls.  Big Sister K's did not stay on for the entire session, but thankfully I was able to get a few photos with Baby K wearing hers.  ~~~ This little stinker slept for *maybe* five minutes of her session, despite our best efforts.  She still did fabulous and both myself and her Mama are beyond happy with her photos! ~~~ ...
Evelyn Joyce with "Special Guest", Big Sister Kimber
At the end of February, my second niece decided to arrive a little bit before her due date.  I was hoping for a Leap Year baby but miss Evelyn Joyce joined us on the 28th, (dang!).   A few days ago, I swung by for a visit and a few photos.  Big sister Kimber, aka my favourite, oldest niece and resident goof ball, decided she needed to pose for me as well.  In case you missed her First Birthday Photoshoot, you can check out her awesome posing skills here :  I found a duck auntie!  .... she honestly is the best poser I have ever seen for someone under 2 years-old.
Mr. Jace Ruger
Well, I can tell you right now that things are incredibly different with two small children.  My first is not quite two but is adjusting to being an older brother quite exceptionally.  Apparently it is difficult to make time to take photos when it is your own child, but I did manage to snag a few.   I am happy to present Jace Ruger who was born at the beginning of May! (I promise, he no longer looks like such an old man.  A little... but not quite.) Sorry that I do not have more to share, I just felt that these were the best.  The rest I will be using to embarass him someday at his graduation or wedding. Heehee! -S.J.
Kimber Elise
I would like to do a little disclaimer about my newborn photography before I give everyone some cute pictures to ooh and awe over. I have been asked a few times in the past about it and would like to clear up a small point. In all my photos, I try to capture the people and the moment. Yes, photoshop and props and poses are great, but I prefer natural beauty.   I am very excited to be able to share these lovely photos of my niece with everyone. She is quite the precious, little gal. Kimber is not a great sleeper, however, and did not appreciate me trying to wrap her in little blankets or put headbands and such on her.  In the end, her best photos occurred at the lake when she was almost 2 weeks old.  Apparently she enjoys to sleep in the sun and sprawl ! I do not mind because she is adorable regardless!   Without further ado, I bring you Kimber Elise.   ********** *Please do not copy or share the photos as they are the property of S....
